Kenneth Hall - Landscape / Nature Photographer

I was born in Leeds, United Kingdom, and first came into contact with photography and the outdoors through my father in the 50's. We had the luxury of regularly visiting the Yorkshire Dales and the east coast of Yorkshire.

Often my father, on arriving home from work, would suggest a walk into the grounds of a stately home close by where. We visited an area known as Bluebell Wood. The Bluebells were stunning and I miss them to this day. Dad was a Pied Piper figure as all my friends would trail along after us into the Wood.

Later as a teenager, I joined the British army and traveled to many places including Cyprus, Canada, the US, Libya and most of West Europe where I was based.

I loved Germany with its mountain ranges and superb winters.

I can remember one Christmas Day catching the West Yorkshire bus and traveling to York and Tadcaster with my new fishing rod. It was dark when I caught the early morning bus and I traveled with the Christmas Eve revelers who after their night out sang to me "The Fisherman of England". I walked across the flooded fields and caught a 10 lb Pike. It was the biggest fish I ever caught.

After thirteen years of military service I emigrated to beautiful New South Wales, Australia and I am still happy to live here. I arrived here thirty seven years ago and have carried on those same bush and photography activities.

To this day I carry backpacks but inside them is food, water and camera gear not fishing gear.

Much of my work is concentrated in New South Wales National Parks. I am very proud to be an Eco License holder. My area of operation is south along the coast to the Victorian border and west to and beyond our gorgeous and famous Blue Mountains.

I photograph, teach photography and run tours to our Blue Mountains, Sydney's Royal National Park, the New South Wales Southern Highlands, South Pacific coast and the bush including Macarthur and Southern Highlands.

It is easier and more impacting to show than tell stories about our wonderful Australian environment. Unfortunately, memories soon fade so we offer our clients ongoing photography tuition which includes mobile phones to DSLR whilst they are enjoying their time with us.

Australia is an ancient land; a continent whose flora and fauna are quite unique. Our four hour classes to three day tours embrace rock formations going back over 400 million years.

With a long history of walking in the bush supported by both nature and commercial photography we have the skills and knowledge to proudly show you our home.

Four hour, one day or four day events in some of the best landscapes and coastal areas of New South Wales.

South West we have Macarthur with historic Camden, Campbelltown, Cobbitty and Menangle which we use for beginner workshops. This area is semi rural and adjacent to the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.

Our very popular, energetic and unpredictable Winter In Macarthur workshops are held here where you chase the sunrise hopefully surrounded by mist and frost.

Moving further south we have the Southern Highlands where our focus changes to early morning and sunrise in the Berrima and Mittagong areas. Once again this location offers superb winter photography but is good and cooler all year round. Our stunning rainforest, coastlines and magnificent panoramas found in our Blue Mountains are perfect for photography.

Most Australian native animals are nocturnal, however, in one special place we visit you may see Eastern Gray Kangaroos and Wallabies grazing throughout the day. I just love capturing images that people around the world can enjoy every day.

Cheers, Ken.
